Gun Rights Group Open Carry Texas was in Olmos Park protesting an unlawful law when they were savagely attacked and arrested. These actions by Olmos Park Police Chief Rene Valenciano will face some tuff criticism for not following Texas State Law. Civil Suits against Olmos Park Police are sure to follow. Subsequent to the arrests the Olmos Park City Council immediately rescinded their law that that went against Texas State Law. Because of Texas Preemption, the Olmos Park law against the carrying of long guns was void anyway.
